Individual Therapy

Sometimes You Know Something Needs to Change Before You Know Exactly What

You might come to therapy because anxiety is taking up too much space. Maybe you’re grieving, going through a divorce or breakup, struggling in a relationship, facing a major life change, or questioning something about yourself or the direction your life is taking.

Or maybe there isn’t one obvious crisis.

Sometimes life looks perfectly manageable from the outside while internally you’re overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply tired of repeating the same patterns.

You don’t need a perfectly defined problem to start therapy.

WE CAN START WITH WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW

Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Sometimes you need practical tools for managing anxiety, setting boundaries, communicating differently, or getting through a difficult season.

Other times, we need to look underneath what’s happening.

We may explore patterns in your relationships, experiences from your past, beliefs you’ve developed about yourself, or ways you’ve learned to protect yourself that once made sense but may not be helping you anymore.

Understanding where something comes from can be important.

So is deciding what you want to do with that understanding now.

THINGS WE MIGHT WORK ON

• Anxiety, worry, and overthinking
• Relationship concerns
• Divorce, separation, and breakups
• Grief and loss, including pet loss
• Life transitions and adjustment
• Stress and feeling overwhelmed
• Boundaries and communication
• Self-esteem and identity
• Recurring patterns that leave you feeling stuck
• Personal growth and figuring out what comes next

WHAT THERAPY WITH ME IS LIKE

I’m engaged in the therapy process with you. I’ll listen, ask questions, help you notice connections, and sometimes gently challenge you to consider something from another angle.

Depending on what you need, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, solution-focused approaches, and other evidence-based practices.

But techniques are tools, not the whole relationship.

I want to understand who you are, what’s shaped you, what’s happening in your life now, and what you would like to be different.

There can be serious conversations here. There can also be humor, curiosity, relief, frustration, discovery, and those moments when something suddenly makes a little more sense.

You don’t have to perform therapy correctly. You just have to show up.

We Can Start Where You Are.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can begin with what’s happening now and talk about what you’re hoping therapy might help you change or understand.
